Sally McKnight, better known as Thorn is the guitarist and lead singer of the eco-goth band, the Hex Girls. She hails from Oakhaven, Massachusetts. She is 1/16th Wiccan on her mother's side and a practitioner of the faith. Her father, Mr. McKnight, is the owner of the Oakhaven pharmacy. From the start, Thorn was fiercely independent and a little mysterious, often preferring the company of animals, trees, or her sketchbook over noisy children’s games. She had a natural sense of leadership and a love for performing, but in a quiet, understated way that often made others curious about her. People began to notice her talent for music early on. Thorn also displayed an early fascination with all things mystical. She collected tarot cards, crystals, and old folklore books, sparking her gothic aesthetic. The Hex Girls met at an Arts & Music Fair. Thorn was performing a short set of her original songs, Dusk was experimenting with drum loops and electronic beats, and Luna was running a small booth of mystical art and keyboard improvisations. They debuted at a local arts fair, performing their first original songs. The crowd was captivated by the mix of spooky aesthetic, theatrical energy, and music that was both fun and haunting. From that moment, the Hex Girls were born. Not just as a band, but as a unit of creative, fearless, mystical young women ready to take on the world… and eventually paranormal mysteries. Thorn is shown to be very mysterious and her traditional Wiccan medicinal remedies cause some to conclude that she is a witch as traditional folklore describes them. Upon actually meeting her though, Thorn is quite kind. Thorn also has a sense of humor, albeit a somewhat dark one and she cares deeply about her father and friends. She has a fascination with the supernatural and all things "spooky” Thorn has an interest in the natural world and is concerned about preserving the environment, as she describes herself as an "eco-goth” Though Thorn is usually calm and kind, she can be immature at times.
